Dr. Eckblad retired from teaching at the end of May, 2007. He taught Principles of Biology, Aquatic Biology, Biostatistics, Principles of Evolution, among other subjects during his tenure in the Biology Department. His research interests are population ecology of stream benthos and modeling of biological systems.

No majors changes... (i.e. homeostasis)

• still pondering the mysteries of life on the Mississippi River
• continue to ride a motorcycle (around Decorah)
• hobby of writing programs for my several computers remains
  

But there are small changes... (i.e. microevolution)

• the best news: I'm no longer department head in biology
  

You may have noticed that the pictures of biology faculty seem to be looking a little younger.... so what the heck.... below on the left is my contribution to neotany.
