Teaching Duties: Introduction to Electron Microscopy, Light Microscopy
Research Interests: Eye structure of all species

I'm part faculty, part administrator and part technician. I'm not sure if all those parts add up to a whole,
but . . .

If you are interested in microscopy and imaging. . .
I'm interested in light and electrons and how these forms of energy can be manipulated to form an image. I have also been active in digital imaging and analysis to enhance traditional images from microscopes and scanners.

My main thrust is to provide imaging education and services for student/faculty research. My research interest is concerned with the structure of the eye, be it simple or compound, and helping students prepare poster presentations of the results.

If you are interested in student employment in the Biology Department . . .
I'm the administrator that coordinates such jobs, I don't actually select who is hired. The best way to get a job is to do well in lab so that your lab instructor will request you for work. Stop by and get an application and return it to my mailbox. I'll get you into our database for consideration. Don't take a chance by setting it on my desk - it will get buried.

If you are interested in getting laboratory equipment repaired . . .
I'm the technician that is responsible for that, whether I can fix it or not is a different story!
If you are interested in getting something ordered for a laboratory . . .
I'm the purchasing agent for the department. Be specific in what you need, especially if it is a chemical.
If you have a problem with a laboratory animal . . .
I am the manager of the Salsbury Animal Facility and chair the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. We operate according to the law outlined by the Animal Welfare Act. If I can't solve your problem, the attending veterinarian or committee can be consulted.
If you need to use the van or other equipment for class related work . . .
You can check it out using the clipboard adjacent to my desk.
If you like vacuum tube amplifiers for audio reproduction. . .
Let's chat!
